Walking and cycling in the area
Landgoed Bleijenbeek, in Afferden, is located in the middle of the beautiful region of the Maasduinen National Park: the green heart of Northern Limburg. Surrounded by wonderful greenery, it is no surprise that you can have a nice long walk or bike trip around A round on the Pitch and Butt course takes about 1.5 hours. And as an official starting point of the National Park, we are happy to help you with finding the right route for your walk or bike ride. You can get our own walk and bike routes at our reception at Landgoed Bleijenbeek. These routes start and end at Landgoed Bleijenbeek and give you a great impression of the surrounding area.
When you arrive by car, you can park it for free in the Landgoed Bleijenbeek parking area. Of course, you can end your walk or bike ride at our restaurant or at our terrace.

‘Happen en Trappen’ in the Maasduinen National Park.
‘Happen en Trappen’ is a national cycling route provider that provides the best cycling routes spread out over the Netherlands and Belgium. The name, that translates as eating and pedaling, already says it; during these bike rides, you also visit various local restaurants.
Our restaurant is connected to one of these routes: Maasheggen and Maasduinen.
Over the 46km route you will make a stop at five local restaurants, with Landgoed Bleijenbeek as your last stop. In the evening you will join us on the terrace and enjoy a dessert while you see the last golfers come in from the course.
The ‘happen en trapped’ package costs €39.95 including the five course dinner with all restaurants.
‘Happen en Stappen’ in the Maasduinen
Just like ‘Happen en Trappen’, ‘Happen en Stappen’ (eating and walking) is a national walking route provider that provides the best walking routes from all over the Netherlands and Belgium. During these walks, you can visit various local restaurants where you grab a bite to eat as you walk. Landgoed Bleijenbeek is connected to one of these routes: Special experiences at Maasduinen National Park.
During the 21 km walk, you will stop at two participating local restaurants with Restaurant Bleijenbeek as a stop. You can choose to start with a cup of coffee and a piece of cake to then finish at Bleijenbeek for a lunch or dinner. You can also opt to have Bleijenbeek as a second stop. You can then have a nice bowl of soup in the restaurant.
The price for the ‘Happen en Stappen’ morning programme is €21.95 (you finish at Landgoed Bleijenbeek with a lunch) and for the afternoon programme it is €27.95 (you finish at Landgoed Bleijenbeek with a main course). This price is including the dishes.
